Termite Monitoring & Baiting

Your Options

Amalgamated Pest Contol have a variety of systems in the TermAForce range to assist with baiting and monitoring. These include Exterra and Sentricon.

Monitor

Why Monitor?

An important part of any defence strategy is the versatility and adaptability to sound the alarm when unwelcome invaders are present or on the move.

Amalgamated Pest Control can provide monitoring systems designed to detect termite activity before they invade your home.

How does it work?

We install non-obtrusive monitoring stations in outdoor areas where subterranean termites are likely to forage.

These stations need to be checked on a regular basis to detect termite activity.

Who does the monitoring?

We can check and report on any activity found. Or, if you wish to monitor them yourself, we can supply you with an education pack telling you what to look for.

What happens if termites are found?

Call us!  We can assist you in stepping up your property management plan and giving you the opportunity to attack the invaders before the invasion causes further problems.

Depending on the monitoring system installed, it may include a baiting component

Baiting

What is baiting? This process involves feeding termites a food source they like, mixed with a toxicant that can be taken back to the colony and eliminate the entire colony.  Baiting works well with monitoring systems because its the next obvious step (once you find termites in the monitoring station).
Why do it?

The objective of this method is to take the pressure of future attack off the structure by detecting and eliminating termite colonies before they get into the structure.

Please Note: This option will not guarantee protection from further attack – however by reducing the termite pressure on a structure, it minimises the likelihood of attack.

How long does it take to work? Baiting does take time and much depends on the products and systems used,  the species of termite, the location and the time of year. Most methods will take a number of weeks before the colony shows real signs of being eliminated.  In some instances it can take a number of months with regular visits by a qualified timber pest technician.
